Unfortunately, the private ultrasound sector is unregulated, and many practitioners claim to be sonographers without formal qualifications. That’s why we guarantee that you will only ever be scanned by a medical professional with proven ultrasound qualifications and extensive NHS diagnostic experience.

We are located in the heart of Colchester city centre, with excellent transport links and a multitude of multistorey car parks close by. Our location offers the added benefit of having an abundance of local shops and restaurants in close proximity, ensuring that attending your scan appointment can be combined with a day out for all the family to enjoy.

Our sonographers continue to work at the local NHS trust, which is why we have genuine links with the maternity and ultrasound services, with robust referral pathways in place. Although all our scans are non-diagnostic, on the rare occurrence that your scan identifies any issues, we will ensure that (with your consent) you will be referred to the most appropriate practitioner directly. This may be your midwife, GP, antenatal consultant, maternity triage, early pregnancy unit, A&E or the local fetal medicine department.
Longer appointment times
All our standard appointments are a minimum of 20 minutes long*. This ensures that you are not rushed and have at least 20 dedicated minutes with our highly experienced midwife sonographer, who will talk you through the scan and answer any questions.
*Please note that the standard 20-minute appointment time excludes our 2D Tuesday and 4D Friday special offers. These appointments are 15 minutes long.

Image quality is just as important to us as it is for you. We have invested a significant amount into state-of-the-art scanning facilities so we can offer you a remarkable insight into the world of your little one at every stage of your pregnancy.
Affordable packages
We offer simple and affordable ultrasound packages for all to enjoy, with fetal well-being checks as standard. Though we recommend booking our scans in advance, we also welcome and accept walk in appointments.
No extra cost for twins
We love scanning twins and recognise that having two children at the same time usually comes with double the cost! This is why we will never charge you extra for growing two babies, or three, or four. If you already know that you are pregnant with twins, please inform us at the time of your booking. This is to ensure that we can allocate you extra time during your appointment.

I really couldn’t recommend little peek more, Emma has been there for us from the start, from my dating scan at 6 weeks +4 to my gender scan at 17 weeks plus the two in between where my anxiety was going crazy and I needed my mind put at ease, Emma is lovely, kind, warm and reassuring! Everything you want from a sonographer/midwife with your first pregnancy.
Along side that the studio is beautifully decorated perfectly styled to give a relaxed atmosphere, something this anxious mumma needed massively.

We have been for multiple scans with Emma, from when I had a scare at 8 weeks pregnant to a beautiful gender reveal scan, to a scan at almost 18 weeks now!
She has been so professional yet so friendly and reassuring to me and my family, as someone that has been so anxious my whole pregnancy , Emma has never failed to listen to all of my never ending questions and queries, and she has always been so excited with us every scan , she cares so much and goes above and beyond to make every scan an amazing experience , I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone looking to get any scans throughout their pregnancy! Wonderful experience and Emma is so lovely. We came in for a 16 week gender reveal but baby was far too cosy on the day to show what needed to be shown, so we were offered a free rescan the following week so she could give us much more certainty of our babies gender. We chose to go with the room lighting for the reveal and it was a really special moment for us. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Been to Little peek to see Emma for 3 scans so far! Always the most welcoming and loveliest experience. The clinic itself is beautiful, so carefully designed and put together. Emma is wonderful and is the most caring, kind and chatty person. Always made to feel comfortable and my scans are never rushed at all. Mia is also a lovely addition to the clinic, so friendly and smiley! Had a gender reveal scan which was such a special experience, able to choose how we wanted to find out and bring family along too!

Myself, partner and 11 year old daughter came along for a late reassurance scan so my daughter could say hello too, Emma made her feel very much involved and we purchased a heartbeat bunny which was an extra special touch.
The whole experience was great, the décor was beautiful and smells amazing. Cant wait to book again for a 4D scan.
