We offer private gender scans from 15 weeks onwards, as your baby’s genitalia are developed enough to be seen clearly. Before 15 weeks, it's often too early, and accuracy is lower.
If your baby’s gender can’t immediately be identified, we will ask you to do some wiggles, have a walk, or eat some sugary snacks to encourage the baby to move. If this still doesn’t work and we are unable to confidently determine gender, a free rescan will be offered if you are at least 15 weeks into your pregnancy.
Please also note that we can only carry out a gender reveal scan if you are over the age of 18. If you’re unsure whether it’s too early to book a scan with us, please speak to our friendly team, who will be happy to help.
Our private gender scans are 99.9% accurate, so it’s very rare that they’re wrong, but if your baby is in a tricky position, we may not initially be able to identify their sex. However, we’ll always triple-check before giving you a result, and if we’re unable to confirm your baby’s gender, then we’ll provide a rescan completely free of charge.
No problem! We have beautiful gender reveal cards in a sealed envelope that we can give you, ensuring that the secret is kept until you are ready to find out during the big reveal!
You can bring up to 5 guests to your 15-week gender scan to share in this magical moment together.
You can upgrade your experience by adding a digital image and video package, extra scan photos, a heartbeat bear, or a gender reveal cannon to your booking. These can also be purchased in the clinic after your scan.
We ask that you don’t take any photos or videos during the scan itself, so that our sonographer can focus on your scan experience and make sure we’re creating a calm, reassuring environment. This also allows you and your guests to fully immerse yourselves in the moment.
You can, however, film the gender reveal once the scan has concluded. We just ask that you let us know about this when you arrive, so that we can accommodate your reveal without you or your guests feeling rushed during your appointment.
All our scans are non-diagnostic, and the primary purpose of this scan is to determine gender. But, on the rare occurrence that your scan identifies any issues, we will ensure that (with your consent) you will be referred to the most appropriate practitioner directly. This may be your midwife, GP, antenatal consultant, maternity triage, early pregnancy unit, A&E, or the local fetal medicine department.
